What Did You Do For Your 30th Birthday?

Happy Friday Everyone! I first want to start off with a question. “What did you do for your 30th birthday?” I’ve documented my experience here on ManoaDNA.com, but I’m interested to hear from all of you! Did you do something exciting? Did you tempt fate, like I did? Or was it just another birthday? I’ve been hearing all kinds of stories, so let’s hear yours! Leave a comment below!

Along those same lines, I just wanted to share one more picture from my skydiving day! I’m still on a high from the week, and was even greeted with birthday lei on Wednesday night. Here I am walking back from the field after my jump. Can you tell I look exhausted?!

Oh, and a little behind the scenes info: check back because Alex and I have something in store for you guys soon!

On to the rest of the week that was. Legendary guitarist Santana came into town last week to perform at the Neil Blaisdell Center. In front of a sold out crowd, he performed all of my favorite songs including “Smooth,” which ManoaDNA covers from time to time. It was a great show, but was three hours long. Electric guitar and spanish beats can only move me for so long…

My life as a television producer continued on as we shot more episodes for season 2 of HI*Sessions. This time, we ventured on to the Ko’olau Golf Course and got some amazing shots with Skyler Kamaka. My favorite job that day was gear transport, because they gave me a golf cart to race around in!

As a jack-of-all-trades, Nick was in charge of gear during the recent HI*Sessions shoot.

Finally, I want to say a quick thank you to Ken at AlaskaPik for sending my latest shipment of finger picks. Ken has supported me for a couple of years now, so I hope you guys support him. He’s really humble, and never asked for a plug, but I’ve really enjoyed playing his picks and I know you will too.

That’s all for this week’s post. Thank you for reading, and don’t forget to leave me a comment below and let me know what you did for your 30th birthday! If there are some interesting ones, I’ll post them in my next blog!

Until then, ALOHA!
