Wow … we’ve had some major rainfall here! It poured all day yesterday and last night … and I mean POURED! Traffic is always bad on Fridays because of the weekend, but add some rain and it quickly becomes major gridlock – enough to make even the calmest driver nuts! And if that wasn’t bad enough, we heard that the Hawaiian Electric workers decided to strike yesterday just as O’ahu started experiencing power outages due to the storm! I mean, come on guys … maybe you’ve got a legitimate beef with your bosses, but to put the public at risk during a critical time is major b.s.! Yes, it probably puts more pressure on HECO, but that’s pretty low …
We had a great time at Studio Rim despite the rain … joining awesome DJs Pele Reiko & Hiroko to record another show for their listeners in Japan. We surprised them with a special jingle that even surprised me! It was also great to see Miyuki there along with some fans from Hokkaido … mahalo!
Lulu’s rocked last night … finally! It’s been a while since we had so much fun, and it all started because our pal, Yutaka, was back visiting with his family! It was like old times again with music, hula, laughter, and more laughter as visitors and locals gathered together to enjoy some Friday pau hana with us. Mahalo to Yutaka and his family, Pat, Miyuki, Sae, Shion, Kayoko, Yoshie, Nao, Bob, Nick, Chris & Chris, Lisa & her gang, and all the rest for coming down to party! I also want to send a special aloha out to Dana … we’ll really miss you, girl! Next up … Kani Ka Pila tonight!
Aloha, “D”
