It’s Veteran’s Day, a time to honor our nation’s veterans for their sacrifices and efforts to maintain peace & security throughout the world. Mahalo for a job well done! And because it’s a national holiday, many people have the day off … but not IOLANI! We’re open for business as usual, so come by and “talk story” with us the next time you’re in the Ala Moana Center neighborhood!
I want send a big mahalo out to a couple of our friends from Japan, Juri & Mayumi, who dropped by the IOLANI on Kona St. store yesterday with some very special omiyage – a package of homemade cookies along with beautiful cards and messages! I am truly amazed and overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of love and support which we receive from friends and supporters here in our community and overseas. Thank you so much for being a part of our ohana, and I promise to continue to make you proud of our efforts!
Oh, and for those concerned about my injured wrist, I did go back to wearing a brace again. And many thanks for all your great remedy suggestions but unfortunately, they all involve needles – a definite no-no, and Lloyd’s Public Enemy #1! Maybe there’s a food remedy .. like eating chili & rice for a week, or 3 malasadas every morning … probably wouldn’t cure my injury but it sure would be fun trying!
Aloha, “D”
