YEEHAAA! It’s the weekend!

Wow .. this week went by fast!  The weekend is upon us once again so I’m playing golf this morning with some of my buddies before heading on over to Kani Ka Pila later tonight.  We have one more performance next Friday noon at FM-105 KCCN’s Aloha Friday Luncheon down at our own KKPG, and then we have to get ready to leave for Japan the following week.  We will be in performing in Sapporo on Sept. 23rd before returning to Tokyo to perform at the JATA World Trade Fair on the 25th and 26th.  We then wrap up our tour with a final performance at Thumbs Up in Yokohama on Monday, Sept. 27th, so I hope we’ll get to see all of you there!

Last night was one of the weirdest nights at Lulu’s … it wasn’t crowded and the people who came acted like zombies.  People seemed to really enjoy the music, but the usual vibrant energy just wasn’t there … oh well, you get these kinds of nights every once in a while!  Last night did have some bright spots, though .. our friend from Japan, Mari, dropped in to see us – it was so good to see her again!  She even brought me Cheezas!  Yay!  My friend Takashi and his wife also came by and brought me some of the famous natto from Kamakura.  For those of you who don’t know what natto is, it’s basically fermented soy beans.  I know, I know .. it sounds really bad and the stuff does smell pretty wicked, but I like it and it’s really good for your health!  It’s definitely an acquired taste and people either love it or hate it.  Speaking of food, I stopped at Zippy’s on the way home and picked up a chili and frank plate.  A word of advice … never eat chili right before you go to bed or you’ll definitely regret it the next morning!

Aloha, “D”
