Rainy NFL Sunday …

A perfect day to stay in and watch NFL football – great match-ups, an onolicious chili omelet and hot Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, and a cool, rainy, overcast day … simply purrrrfect!

Meanwhile, excitement continues to build for both MDNA and ‘IOLANI as we head into the last quarter of 2013.  ‘IOLANI will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary with a benefit fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 10th, for the REHAB Hospital of the Pacific at our ‘IOLANI ON KONA STREET store.  The evening will be filled with music provided by KAPALA and MDNA, with fashion peeks and prizes throughout the night.  Of course, our pals at Side Street Inn will be providing the awesome onolicious spread!  All proceeds will benefit REHAB, who also happens to be celebrating its 60th anniversary too!  Everyone’s invited so come on down … it’s for a good cause and I promise a really fun evening!  Advanced tickets can be purchased for $30 online at iolani60.eventbrite.com, or for $40 at the door ….

‘IOLANI is also working on some very cool projects for 2014 … I’m sworn to secrecy, though, but trust me – it’s gonna be pretty awesome!  We should be releasing some details soon, so stay tuned …

MDNA has been busy in the recording studio and rumor has it that a new CD will be released later this year … but then again, it’s only rumor!  We are, however, planning to release a special CD during our Japan tour which starts at the end of November.  We’ll be performing in Sendai, Tokyo (Harajuku), Hamamatsu, Hiroshima, and Sapporo, with a special visit and performance in Onagawa, Miyagi Prefecture.  It’s been a while since we last visited the Tohoku Region and we look forward to showing our continued support for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami back in March 2011.  It’s been over two years since the disaster and though the world has pretty much forgotten about them, many of the survivors continue to struggle in their recovery.

Aloha, “D”
