Well, my first post for February, and my first one since the beginning of the year. Don’t worry, I didn’t have major surgery or anything, I just took a month off from ManoaDNA to relax and focus on my other two jobs! Here’s what you missed…
First of all, like I said, January was a month of relaxation. That included a trip to Napa Valley, California with Dad & Alex for some wine tasting and vacation. Here’s a picture of me holding a huge champagne (sorry French people, sparkling California wine, ahem) from Schramsberg Winery! They have really awesome caves, and I learned how champagne is made!
Of course, with my vacation from ManoaDNA, I was able to focus on my other projects like HI*Sessions! We are gearing up for our second season on KFVE and moving to a much better time slot. Tune in on Sundays, starting in March, from 6:00-6:30pm to see more of Hawai’i’s great artists and musicians! Here’s a shot from the studio featuring Weldon Kekauoha!
All vacations must come to an end however, so I though I would share a shot from my first Kani Ka Pila of the year. It was actually the first time I had performed at Kani Ka Pila since mid November! It was like riding a bike though, and I quickly got into the flow of things. Luckily for us, almost the entire restaurant decided to dance at the end! It was awesome!
For my last photo, I want to send my condolences out to our friends in San Francisco. I was rooting for the 49ers to pull off the win, but in the end, Ray Lewis and his antler spray proved to be too much! Have no fear, the 49ers are already favorites to win next year!
Finally, I think I should apologize to you guys for Dad’s blog. Haha, sometimes, he gets into his old grumpy man mode (especially at 6am when he writes his blogs) and complains. Case in point, his rant about Hyatt’s parking lot. As ManoaDNA’s spin doctor/public relations/politically correct officer, I will try to remedy the situation…
While Hyatt and it’s wonderful staff try to provide a stress-free and luxurious environment, it cannot control everything. The parking experience is free-of-cost to all customers dining at SWIM Bar or any other restaurant on the property. Waikiki parking is difficult, but please do not let that deter from having a wonderful experience enjoying ManoaDNA at the SWIM Bar, every Wednesday from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.
AKA, just take a deep breath. Besides, you can’t complain if it’s free, right? Man, I should do this for a living…
ALOHA!
