Oh no, not another one!

Just heard about the 7.3 earthquake that hit Japan several hours ago … damn!  I guess the good news is that the damage appears minimal and even though a small tsunami came ashore, it was a minor one.  As soon as I heard the news I was instantly reminded of 3/11 and pray that everyone’s ok over there …

I can tell that the holiday season is in full swing because it seems like I have some kind of event or dinner every night!  Last night I was invited to a dinner at Yaki Yaki Miwa, a small Japanese restaurant which specializes in okonomiyaki, a type of Japanese crepe with various meat & vegetable toppings.  My friend Leon invited us there because they are one of the few restaurants that serve Kenzo Estate wines.  In my last blog, I wrote about Kenzo and how we all attended a reception for his winery at the Halekulani earlier this week.  Very interesting guy and good wines …

ManoaDNA will be performing twice today … first at a Friday pau hana event at the Hawaiian Airlines Premier Club, and then at a corporate event over at the Hale Koa Hotel.  Our schedule for the rest of the month will be filled with special events like these so we’ll be unable to perform at Lulu’s or Kani Ka Pila until 2013 … sorry!!

Aloha, “D”
