It’s another beautiful Monday morning here in paradise!  Sorry I missed yesterday’s blog .. had an early start by taking my good friends to the airport for their flight back to Japan.  I then headed back to Waikiki to pick up another friend for breakfast before heading out to the Royal Kunia G.C. to join Nick, Alex, and the DNA golf club.  We had a great time but us old guys lost to the young guns … again!

On Saturday night, the boys threw a surprise anniversary party for me & Carla at our friend’s home.  We thought we were going to a surprise party for Nick’s birthday so you can imagine my shock when we walked through the door!  There was so much food – rib-eye steaks, smoked pork, shish kababs, lasagna, sushi rice, assorted salads, and tons of pupus to go along with a nice selection of “beverages”.  And the desserts – home-made hot fudge sundaes with all the fixings, brownies w/ shortcake cookies, and an awesome “creamsicle” cake … yup, it tasted exactly like an orange creamsicle!  I want to send a big mahalo to the Yamanakas, the Noyles, the Taylors, the Hiuras, the Sanders, and the others for making it such a wonderful evening!  But I especially want to send a HUGE mahalo out to our two wonderful sons, Nick and Alex, for putting this all together.  We are so blessed to have such great boys and I love you guys very much!

Aloha, “D”
