Aloha, peeps! What a great weekend … spent Saturday night at the Outrigger Reef and woke up to a beautiful sunrise and the Pacific Ocean right off our balcony the next morning! Here’s a pic of the Kani Ka Pila Grille from our balcony … looks pretty tiny from 18 floors up, huh? We also cruised on over to the Beachwalk and stopped in at the Yard House for a beer and some pupus. They make a great “black & tan” (Guinness & Bass ale)!
ManoaDNA was a guest judge at KZOO Radio’s 30th Anniversary Karaoke Finals at the Sheraton Waikiki yesterday … what great fun & entertainment! Almost all of the entertainers sang enka (Japanese folk songs), while a few of the younger contestants sang more contemporary songs. Congratulations to Guy Kokubun, this year’s Grand Champion winner who sang “Bochi Bochi“, a real crowd pleaser!  And although the event lasted almost 6 hours, the enthusiasm of the crowd and the great entertainment made the time go by quickly.
So now it’s Monday and time to go back to work … and from the looks of it, it’s gonna be another very busy week at the IOLANI!
Aloha, “D”
