It’s Tuesday (yawn!)

It’s lunchtime here in Hawai’i nei, and I’m about to go for a quick workout at the Honolulu Club.  I still can’t play squash since my wrist is still sore, but hopefully it’ll be better tomorrow.   I had a really nice “talk story” interview with the legendary Eddie Kamae this morning here at IOLANI, and it was amazing – I could sit and listen to him for hours!  He has so many stories and pearls of wisdom to share,  and our lucky listeners on Radio-I in Nagoya will get to hear some of it on the “Talk Story” segment of our “Discover Aloha” radio show which airs every Sunday from 11am to 1pm.  Eddie and his wife, Myrna, are very good friends of my family and I remember listening to Eddie and the Sons of Hawa’i when I was a kid … ahhhh, great memories!

Had some great takeout last night from the original Side Street Inn next to Ala Moana shopping center.  While waiting for my order of their famous fried rice, boneless kalbi, and a farmer’s salad with shrimp, I enjoyed a mug of some of the coldest draft beer in town along with some stir-fried garlic edamame (soy beans) and fresh ahi poke.  You guys gotta check this place out – it’s the bomb!

Gonna go work out now … aloha, “D”.
