Happy Aloha Friday, peeps! It’s also Good Friday, the start of the Easter weekend here in paradise and a holiday for everyone except for us working stiffs! The good thing is that it’s the end of another grueling work week and I can now relax and enjoy the weekend with the family … and what better way to start it off than by playing music with my boys! Tonight we perform for a corporate event at the Moana, so no Lulu’s (sorry!). Tomorrow morning, we’ll be on the Perry & Price Show to help promote next week’s Chaminade Luau and then we’ll be back at our “home”, the Kani Ka Pila Grille! Fun, fun, fun!!
This past Wednesday, my mom and ‘IOLANI were honored to be recognized by the Hawai’i State Senate for past achievements. Senate President Donna Kim presided over the ceremony with Sen. Kouchi, Sen. Galuteria, and Sen. Taniguchi delivering the proclamations. This is also the 60th anniversary for ‘IOLANI which was founded in 1953 by my parents, so this truly is a significant year for all of us! We will continue to do our best to carry on the family tradition …
Aloha, “D”
