Hey, peeps! I’m back … sorry I haven’t been posting many blogs lately … been kind of busy with ‘IOLANI and lots of things on my mind. I’ll try to keep you guys up to date in the coming months even though it may be sporadic … better than nothing, I guess. Anyway, things are kinda quiet for ManoaDNA while Alex focuses on his LA project, but activity should start picking up real quick as we head into the summer. We’re on the Big Island this weekend to help celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Keck Observatory, one of top space observatories in the world, then head to the mainland to do a little recording before flying to the east coast to visit some family … should be fun. After that we have some big projects we need to complete by summer … one being a new CD!
And by the way, ‘IOLANI will be celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary this year! (Hmmmm … I think someone else is celebrating 60 years too, but that’s not important!) It’ll be a very proud moment for me and my family, especially for my mom … I only wish my dad were alive to enjoy this with us! I know he’ll be right there with us in spirit, though …
Lastly, mahalo to all of the HARA members for your great support of ManoaDNA & “rookie” soloist, Alex, and congratulations to all the nominees for this year’s Na Hoku Hanohano Awards!
Much aloha, “D”
