Aloha, everyone!
The holiday season officially kicks off this week with Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Wow, I can’t believe it’s that time of year again … everything’s moving so quickly and there’s still so much to do before 2012 is over. This is my favorite time of year … there’s a festive mood in the air and people seem so much happier and relaxed. But for many in our community, it’s still tough times so we all need to pitch in to help make it a joyful holiday season for everyone.
Yesterday the DNA Golf Club had its annual Thanksgiving golf outing out at Pearl Country Club, and although the turnout was small, we collected a lot of donations for the Hawaii Foodbank. Our makuli team of myself, Bob O., Bill C., and Tony not only won first place by contributing the most amount of canned goods, but also took 2nd place team honors in the tournament even though my game game totally sucked! Oh, and on Dec. 21st we’ll be holding our 4th Annual “Boys & Their Toys” toy drive down at Gordon Biersch from 6-9pm. I know, I know … we haven’t had much luck with the weather there on our last two events, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best! I hope you guys can come down and join us for some great food, music, and prizes, and help make this holiday season a joyful one for everybody!
Aloha, “D”
