Aloha, peeps!
We celebrated my wife Carla’s birthday yesterday down at The Swim since we perform there regularly on Wednesdays. A bunch of family and friends came down to celebrate and everyone had a great time .. including our pal Poletti who’s the maitre’d over at the Japengo restaurant next door. The guy is a real free spirit … occasionally sneaking into our area to grab some unsuspecting guest to get up and dance with him, much to the delight of the crowd. It was also our good friend Yoshie’s birthday the day before so we ended up singing “Happy Birthday” to both ladies. And before I forget, I want to send a big mahalo out to Stacia for the wonderful Trader Joe’s omiyage!
Excitement’s starting to build for our upcoming Fall tour “ManoaDNA Meets Ohana” presented by Hawaiian Airlines next month. We’ll be performing in Sapporo at the JASMAC PLAZA on Nov. 6th, in Nagoya at the BLUE NOTE on Nov. 8th, in Osaka at the AMHALL on Nov. 9th, and finishing up in Tokyo on Nov. 12th at the MT. RAINIER HALL in Shibuya. I’m particularly excited about performing in Sapporo, Nagoya and Osaka since we don’t perform there as often as we do in Tokyo. I personally want to invite all of our fans and their friends there to join us for an evening of MDNA-style music, fun, and surprises. We’ll also have our brand new EP “SWEET EMBRACE” limited edition which I know you’ll enjoy, so I hope to see you all there!
Aloha, “D”
