Aloha, everybody!
Yesterday was definitely a better day … played in the Pacific Links’ PGA Champions Tour pro-am event out at Kapolei. This was the kick-off event for the senior tour series in Hawai’i and each group consisted of 4 amateurs (ie, duffers) and one pro. Our pro was R.W. Eaks … a great guy who can really whack the ball! We finished the first nine holes in decent shape – 8 under – but then got only 4 birdies on the next nine. The food stations on the course were awesome and included Alan Wong’s, 3660 on the Rise, D.K.’s Sansei, and other top chefs and restaurants. By the time we started the back nine, I was stuffed! We also received many gifts at the tees including a new TaylorMade RBZ 3-wood, a Scotty Cameron putter, and Ashworth Cardiff golf shoes … cool stuff! I want to thank my good friend, Eddie, for inviting me … and I’m sorry my game sucked (so what’s new?)! I guess my mind was a little preoccupied since Alex had his solo debut last night in Yokohama. I couldn’t wait to get up this morning and see how it went … it reminded me of Christmas morning when I was a kid! Such excitement and anticipation! Needless to say that I was so happy and relieved to hear that his debut went well – what a great experience!
So today’s another day … and it’s back to the salt mines for this dude! Have a good one!
Aloha, “D”
