Happy Aloha Friday!

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Friday morning!  Went out yesterday afternoon to join my fellow degenerates for our weekly round of golf and lo and behold … my swing had miraculously returned!  What the ..?!  But as that old saying goes, “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”,  I’m gonna just go with the flow and hope that this is a sign that my game is making a comeback and not just a blip on the screen!  I couldn’t join the guys at the “19th Hole” afterward because I had to go to Lulu’s for a meeting.  I think this was the first time that I actually had a chance to sit and enjoy a meal at Lulu’s because we’re usually there performing and have to grab quick bites before we start.  I ordered their chicken fajitas which was awesome and enough food to feed an army!  The chicken and grilled veggies are served separately on a hot, sizzling platter and is accompanied by another platter filled with flour tortillas, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, beans, and rice.  Needless to say, no room for dessert!

The Taguchis from Yokohama, are coming into town next week!  Like so many of our dear friends from Japan, I consider them our extended ohana and always enjoy seeing them when they visit Hawai’i.  Since we plan to go golfing while they’re here, I hope Taguchi-san has practiced his sand game … last time he took so many swings trying to get out of the bunker that there was no sand left after he was done! :-)  (Just kidding, of course … there were a few grains of sand left!  Hahaha!)

After Lulu’s and Kani Ka Pila Grille this weekend, we’ll be off for a couple of weeks because the boys will be traveling … Alex to Japan and Nick to the mainland.  It’ll be a good break for me (we’ve been so busy this summer) and I might even make an attempt to compose my very first song!  But don’t hold your breath … I’ve been known to make these stupid comments before! 🙂

Aloha, “D”
