So, as you can see I’m writing my blog every other day now … I kinda like it because it’s hard to find stuff to share every day without boring you guys.  It seems like this summer’s been pretty busy even though my schedule doesn’t show it.  Alex is busy preparing for his September trip to Japan where he’ll be stopping in Yokohama to do his first ever solo live at Thumbs Up.  Meanwhile, MDNA is trying to get back into the studio to record tracks for its new CD but finding the time to do so has been a real a challenge.  Meanwhile, ‘IOLANI continues to move along …

Wednesday night at THE SWIM we got a request for “Mister Sun Cho Lee”, an old local song which makes fun of all the different ethnic groups here in Hawai’i.  I hadn’t sung it in what … over 30 years!  But I did manage to remember most of the lyrics and we were able to get through the song – barely!  Good fun …

Golf sucked yesterday .. my game is really in the tank now.  I actually topped my drive into the creek no more than 25 yards in front of the #4 tee!  I’m not at all comfortable with my swing and the only thing saving me is my putting and chipping which is marginal at best.  What a crazy game .. no wonder the pros get frustrated!

On Tuesday, our good friend Shioji-san joined Alex and I and my fellow “Degenerate”, Alton, for a team match play at Waialae.  Shioji-san is visiting from Japan and is here for the slack-key festival this weekend at Kapiolani Park.  He and I took on Alex & Alton and lost on the 18th hole … again!  We had a great time, though, and I want to thank Shioji-san for the great omiyage which he brought us … and mahalo to Takashi for the shochu!

Have a great Aloha Friday, everyone!

Aloha, “D”
