Home!

Aloha, everyone …

It’s Monday morning and I just woke up … everything’s been kind of a blur since we arrived home yesterday afternoon.  I was so tired by the time we boarded our plane at midnight in Haneda that I just passed out soon after taking my seat.  Pretty much slept all day yesterday and last night and awoke to the puppies (especially Buster) barking.  And if pass trips are any indication, I should be getting a visit by Mr. Jet Lag sometime this afternoon or tomorrow …

This trip had to be one of the best ones yet.  The variety of venues we performed was very enjoyable, and of course, the crowds were fabulous!  I can’t say enough about our great fans … many of them came to every performance!  I’d like to thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart because without them it’s just “one big rehearsal”!  Many of our friends also went “beyond the call” to assist us with our tour … I want to send a special “mahalo” to the Taguchis, Ann, Kimiko and HTJ, Takashi, Makiko, Yutaka, Misa, Wayne and the Hiroshima committee, and of course, my family!  We look forward to seeing everyone again later this year when we hope to have our next new CD ready to debut!  Also, Alex will be doing his first ever solo live performance in Japan on Sept. 13th at Thumbs Up, so please don’t miss it!  More details will be forthcoming on our website or from AK himself …

Our last day in Japan was spent at a fan gathering and then at dinner with good friends, Takashi, Shioji-san, and Yumi.  We went to a Thai restaurant near the train station which was quite good, but the place seemed a little warm & humid … like they were trying to create the feeling of being in Bangkok.  All I know is that it made me very thirsty and I ended up drinking more beer than I should have … especially since we were flying home later in the evening!

I’m going through the photos I took with my iPhone and will include some of them in the next few blogs, so please stay tuned!

Aloha, “D”
