Getting ready …

Happy Aloha Friday, everyone!

Getting ready to go back on the road again so I’ve started pulling together stuff I need to pack.  Can’t take too much, though, since we’ll be traveling by train and the last thing you want to do is lug a heavy bag around the train stations in Japan.  The worst is my guitar case which is always a pain because of its odd shape and weight.  It would be great if I could take my gig bag which acts like a guitar backpack and is much lighter – only problem is that it would get crushed in the luggage container on the flight over.  Gotta figure something out or it could be a struggle!

When my friend Leon heard that we were going to be performing at the Hiroshima Carp baseball game, he brought over a team cap which he got back in 1975 when the baseball team visited Hawai’i.  His advice was that it only be worn or displayed in Hiroshima because to wear it in another team’s city could cause problems.  I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that because as it turns out, the cap is too small to be worn by any of us.  Still … I wonder what kind of reaction we’d get if we wore it during one of our Yokohama concerts?  Are you serious?!   Do I look that stupid?!  (Wait .. don’t answer that!  hahaha!)

Have a great Friday, my friends … and mahalo for supporting Hawai’i’s musicians!

Aloha, “D”
