Sunday sunrise!

Good morning, everyone!

Just got back from walking the puppies on a beautiful, but wet Sunday morning here in Manoa!  It’s been raining off and on since early morning and there’s a cool breeze in the air … a sharp contrast to the hot summer-like weather we’ve been having recently.  And of course, I saw the usual gang of exotic birds which hang out in the huge monkey pod tree on Oahu Avenue.  The sound of their calls are much louder and sharper when compared to those of our local species which are softer and more melodic.

Had a great night at Kani Ka Pila last night … great crowd, lots of energy.  Met some of the WWII vets from Memphis who were visiting and spoke at length with one of them who used to be a drummer with the Glenn Miller band several decades ago.  He said they were considered a very small band with only fourteen musicians … geez, and I think five is a lot!  Last night was only Manoa D and A – Nick was out attending a friend’s wedding dinner but managed to show up with the wedding group in time to join us for a couple of hana hous which really got the crowd going!  It was a lot of fun …

Going to take my mom to breakfast this morning so I gotta split … have a great Sunday, everyone!

Aloha, “D”
