Aloha kakahiaka, peeps!
Buster, our Jack Russell terrier, is 16 years old and slowly going deaf and blind … and since 1 dog year equals 7 of ours, that would make him 112 years old! No wonder he’s falling apart! Actually, he’s in pretty good shape considering his age although he’s been running into things lately because he can’t see too good. Like the chain link fence the other day and my guitar stand this morning … just trots along, then wham! Oh well, that’ll probably be me someday …
Since I haven’t talked about food recently, let me tell you about some stuff that I got from the Honolulu Club health bar yesterday … two quinoa dishes – one done loco moco-style, and the other Mexican. Quinoa is one of the latest “super-foods” that supposedly contains a lot of protein and looks like shiny pale BBs. The loco-moco dish had quinoa sauteed with shiitake mushrooms, green onions, and oyster sauce, with a scrambled egg on top, while the Mexican one had a combination of tomato, corn, green onion, cilantro (yuck!), and pico de gallo. Both were very good and made a nice late night snack after we got home from performing at the Hyatt last night. Plus, it’s good for you … which I hope will keep me healthy and prevent me from walking into my guitar stand any time soon …
And finally … it’s Thursday, which means golf – need I say more??
Aloha, “D”
