Aloha, everybody!
The family all gathered together last night to help my mom celebrate her 90th birthday at Arcadia. She and the residents were entertained by ManoaDNA and the great Eddie Kamae of the Sons of Hawai’i who, along with wife Myrna, have been dear friends of my mom and dad for many, many years. With beautiful hula by Miss Aloha Hula finalist Sarah Kamalei Noyle, Aunty Pat and her granddaughter Lexie, it truly was a magical evening filled with music, laughter, and lots of aloha! I’d like to send a big mahalo out to Ethie and the Arcadia staff for helping us make this a special day for mom!
Today was pretty much a normal day with a couple of long meetings and a quiet night at home. Meanwhile, it’ll be a busy week for ManoaDNA starting tomorrow with a private event at the Honolulu Zoo, Lulu’s on Friday, SPAM Jam in Waikiki on Saturday, and Taste of the Nation on Sunday … whew!
