Still pouring …

Aloha, friends!

… and the rain continues to come down!  It’s been pretty much non-stop since Sunday and the ground is now so saturated that the water is just collecting in our yard … perfect football conditions!  When I was a little kid, my buddies and I used to love to play football in the rain and turn the field into one big mud pit … ahhhh, such great memories!  These days, I use an umbrella just to get the morning paper from the mailbox … what an old fart!  I also heard THE loudest crack of thunder last night!  It started with what I thought was a camera flash right outside our window and within a second or two I was jolted by a sharp, thunderous clap which was so loud, I almost jumped out of my LazyBoy!  I seriously thought that something had exploded nearby … the vibration even knocked my laptop charger out of the wall socket!  So, after putting on a new pair of underwear (just joking … really!) I braced myself for more of the same but the rest of the night was pretty boring.  Boy, I still can’t believe how loud that sucker was …

It’s supposed to rain all week so I’m not sure whether we’ll be appearing at the Hyatt on Wednesday, but I’m hoping it’ll clear up in time for Kani Ka Pila on Saturday.  And since we won’t be at Lulu’s this Friday because the boys have a prior commitment, this week could turn out to be quite restful for old Dad …

Aloha, “D”
