Aloha, everyone!
Missed posting yesterday’s blog due to a power outage in our area … someone said it was caused when a woman driving her car knocked down one of the utility poles by UH. Power was out for a long time (about 12 hours) – boy, she sure picked the right pole! ManoaDNA performed at the Honolulu Festival press conference yesterday morning down at the Waikiki Beachwalk. All the bigwigs were there – the mayor, tourism and hotel officials – along with the press (mostly Japanese media). We were even blessed with a light rain mist right before the conference started! Mahalo to the Honolulu Festival for inviting us to participate again this year!
Attended boot camp for the first time in quite a while yesterday afternoon … and boy, did I suffer! I’m always amazed at how weak and out of shape my body is even though I’m starting to play squash again and I’ve been working out regularly. The one good thing is that I don’t hurt this morning … I remember not being able to walk for a couple of days after the first couple of classes! Our instructor, Scotty, is a maniac and keeps the class intense but fun. After that was done, I returned to my office to finish up some stuff and then met my friend Cal at Side Street for a quick pau hana drink. On the way home, I decided to treat myself to some good ‘ol junk food and stopped at Jack-in-the-Box to pick up a taco & hamburger – mmmm, good! Fast food is amazing … there must be some secret ingredient in them that makes people crave it because I LOVE that Jumbo Jack!
For some reason I’ve been feeling a little down lately … nothing serious, just don’t know why. Maybe it’s because we have so much to do this year and it’s so overwhelming that I sometimes get a feeling of helplessness. No worries, though … quitting is not in my vocabulary. I will always give it my best, and whatever happens, happens – no regrets! Let’s roll!
Aloha, “D”
