Great weekend!

Aloha, peeps!

It’s early Sunday morning and the puppies are barking at something outside … might be one of our neighbors who was up at 6:30am practicing his or her violin!!  So much for a nice, peaceful Sunday …

Let me recap:  Friday at Lulu’s was fun although it was noisy as hell again … there was a big birthday party right next to us and this drunk girl was talking so loud I could hear her even though I was right in front of our main speaker!  She had one of those screechy voices that send shivers up your spine … I wanted to tell her to get back on her broom and leave!  Saturday, however, was much better.  The DNA golf club played out at Royal Kunia in the morning (we usually play on a Sunday, but yesterday was an exception) and I shot an 82 even with a 10 on #9!  It’s actually a good thing that we played yesterday because the strong winds and rain are back this morning and it would have been miserable out on the course.  And it was crazy at Kani Ka Pila last night … it was such a packed house that a couple asked to sit at Carla’s table because there was no room – sitting or standing!  They said that they’ve never had any problems getting seats before, but last night was the first time they were told that there was a long waiting list!  It was great to see many of our fans from Japan there along with a bunch of my sister’s high school buddies .. it was a great night!

Our relatives from Hiroshima leave today … Tadao and Erika are going back home after a brief visit with us.  It’s always so good to see them even though it’s only for a short time.  I think my mom was especially happy to see them since she can’t travel to Japan any more.

Oh … Carla just showed me a Tommy Bahama catalog and at the very end it says “Aloha”.  Tommy Bahama trying to pass themselves off as something Hawai’ian?!  Yeah, right … and I’m all Irish!  Give me a break … please!

Aloha, “D”
