Go Niners!!

‘Morning, all!

It’s the final Sunday of the NFL playoffs with the winners playing for the NFL championship in Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on Feb. 5th.  Since Denver’s no longer in the picture, I’m now rooting for the San Francisco 49ers to go all the way.  They haven’t come close to winning a championship since 1995 so they’re due.  I think New England will kill Baltimore today, so a Patriots vs. 49ers match-up in the Super Bowl would be a great game to watch!  Go Niners!

It’s a beautiful breezy morning up here in the valley as I sit here with my steaming cup of (yup, you guessed it) Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and watch the sun come up over the mountains.  Earlier, I had picked up my guitar for the first time since our break and the feeling was both weird and comforting.  Weird because the wooden body felt awkward in my hands when it used to feel so natural, and comforting, like greeting an old friend after a long absence.  Of course, after the first few notes everything became “one” again and I was in heaven!  I’ll need a couple of rehearsals to get back in the groove, but after that I’ll be ready to go …

I grabbed some pizza over at Boston Pizza in Manoa last night and it was disappointing.   I ordered a slice of vegetarian and a slice of sausage & mushrooms, and I gotta tell you … I don’t eat pizza very often but the stuff was pretty tasteless!  It was like eating dough with a little cheese on it … too bad, because Boston’s used to be much better back in the day when we used to go all the way to Kailua to get some.  Maybe I just caught them on an off night … oh well, I’ll give ’em another try to see if that was the case.

That’s it for today, folks … it’s time to watch football!

Aloha, “Pops”
