And the new year begins ….

Aloha, my peeps!

Today is our first “official” workday of 2012 since yesterday was the designated New Year holiday.  Things are pretty much back to normal as the streets are busy and people are back in the work mode.  The holidays are over and it’s time to get back to work … ugh!

I took my mom to the Punchbowl National Cemetery yesterday to wish my dad a happy birthday.  It’s always so beautiful and peaceful up there and I was amazed at the amount of flowers that were placed along the walls where my dad’s ashes are interred.  Alex and Nick met us there and Alex brought a cigar (my dad LOVED his cigars!) which he placed in front of his grandpa’s niche.  After we were done,  I dropped my mom off and went to get some lobster for Alex’s birthday dinner – he wanted macaroni and cheese (his favorite) with lobster added in.  So last night our family had lobster macaroni & cheese, Nick’s Cheetos mac & cheese (interesting to say the least!), and ice cream cake for Alex’s birthday dinner … real comfort food!

I think we have a problem with our sewer pipe … there’s a weird smell coming from somewhere under the house so I think we have to call the plumber.  Hope it’s not serious … damn!

Aloha, “D”
