Black Friday

‘Morning, peeps!

Ugh!  I feel terrible this morning … not because I’m sick, but because I ate WAY too much last night!  I don’t know what it is about the holidays, but there’s just so much good food that I feel compelled to try and eat everything!  Now I know why so many Americans are obese!  We had roasted turkey, deep-fried turkey (delicious!), baked ham, sweet potatoes, rice, rolls, creamed corn, green beans, salads, poke, and of course, tons of desserts!  Our friend, Amy, brought a lemon crunch cake from Aiea Bowl and it was THE BOMB!  I ended up having 2 pieces which is probably why I feel like crap this morning!  Food aside, it was a wonderful gathering of family and friends and a great way to kick off the holiday season.  And the evening was just beginning for some as they headed down to the malls afterward to take advantage of the Black Friday sales which began at midnight.

So now we’re into the Thanksgiving weekend … Happy Aloha “Black” Friday, everyone!  Words of advice: Do not go near any of the shopping malls today!  It’s going to be insanity at its worst, unless you enjoy waiting in gridlock for hours for a parking space or in endless check-out lines with other tired and frustrated shoppers.  This is the ugly side of the holidays when capitalism totally takes over … it’s so sad!

Alex, Mark, and Seann are down at Lulu’s tonight while ManoaDNA takes a break.  Hope you get a chance to check ’em out because they really rock!  We’ll be back at Kani Ka Pila tomorrow night …

Aloha, “D”
