Great weekend!

Aloha, my friends!

Our home internet connection was down during the weekend so I’m sending this blog from my office at IOLANI.

Had a great time at Lulu’s last Friday night – it was our first time back after many weeks on the road.  It was great to see a lot of you there, especially many of our Japan friends who are here visiting.  This is my favorite time of year, not only because of the cool weather but mostly because I love spending the holidays at home with my family.  We’re all so busy during the year that it’s very important for us to take some time off to relax, recharge, and just be with our loved ones … and yes, that includes the puppies!  ManoaDNA will still be performing but our schedule will be very light.  Of course, come 2012 we’ll be back in full attack mode again …

Our UH Warriors lost again on Saturday to Fresno State 24-21.  I haven’t gone to any of the games this season … probably because I’m not into tailgating anymore and would rather watch the games at home or at Side Street where the food’s better and I can leave when the game gets too frustrating.  And with losses mounting, a dwindling attendance, and a post-season bowl game highly unlikely, the rumblings for a coaching change are already starting to be heard up on the Manoa campus.  Too bad because coach “Mac” is a really nice guy – but then again, they don’t pay someone a million dollars a year for being nice!

Yesterday, I played golf with the DNA boys out at the New Ewa golf course along with our good friend, Ichikura-san, who happened to be in town for some meetings.  It was a beautiful day – a bit windy, but great golf weather and the course was in pretty decent shape.  It would have been a perfect day except for the speed of play which was incredibly slow – it took us almost 5 hours to complete the round!  Way too long …

Well, this week will be a short one since Thanksgiving is on Thursday … I hope you all have a safe & wonderful holiday weekend and I’ll catch you guys later!

Aloha, “D”
