We flew into Tokyo late last night and have had a busy day of courtesy visits and meetings. I didn’t get a good night’s sleep (so what’s new) and ended up waking up at 3:30am! We had a nice visit at the U.S. embassy this morning with the ambassador and his wife before heading on over to meet our HTJ friends for a quick lunch at our favorite katsu restaurant, Katsukura, over in Shiodome. After a long 2-hour delegate meeting, I’m now back in my hotel room for a little down time before attending a welcome dinner here in Shinagawa. Then I’m gonna try and hit the sack early tonight since we leave for Iwaki city tomorrow morning on the first leg of the Project Aloha Goodwill Tour. I will try to send you updates as we go along ….
