Boy, Mother Nature is sure kicking ass this year, huh? Her latest creation, Hurricane Irene, is about to hit the east coast sometime today. I hope everyone there is prepared because the powerful winds and surf can definitely ruin your day … take care and stay safe, you guys!
Meanwhile, here in Hawai’i it’s a cool, overcast Saturday morning … and as I look out into our backyard, I notice that the avocados on the tree are almost ready to be picked – should be no more than 2-3 weeks, tops. The fruit on our tree are the big butter pears – the kind with small pits, thin skin, and none of that stringy, fibrous stuff in the meat. Just lots of buttery smooth fruit! Mmmmm!
Had a weird night at Lulu’s last night … place was totally empty when we got there except for 2 or 3 tables. Even the bar was deserted. It filled up a little during our first two sets and was packed by the time our 3rd set came around. I think they were having a film debut party or something later that evening, but I gotta tell you … there were some VERY strange people in that place! In fact, the place was so weird that I went outside to check whether there was a full moon out …
Aloha, “D”
I used to live in Hawaii (in Manoa, actually), but now I’m in Baltimore, Maryland. We’re actually not getting much of anything here, although New Jersey is suffering some pretty serious power outages.Â
What I wouldn’t give to be in Hawaii now though! You don’t really realize how much you love the place until you leave.
