Well … my ego got the best of me yet again! I went and played squash during lunch yesterday and really messed up my shoulder again. Idiot!! It’s a little stiff and sore this morning, but actually only hurts when I move it slightly a certain way. The rest of the time it’s perfectly fine with no pain or restricted movement … go figure. The ultimate test will come this afternoon – it’s Thursday which means I once again venture forth to do battle with the evil demons (my golf buddies) on the links in Kahala! If my shoulder fails me, I will end up being totally humiliated and penniless (not to mention VERY pissed off!) ….
I was at the original Side Street (again) last night with my friend, Naoyuki, for some very belated birthday pau hana. We were talking about all the new little eateries popping up in our area – Bernini, Nanzan Giro Giro, Ichiriki, and others – and how this section of commercial/industrial Kakaako is slowly changing into a neat little enclave of small shops and trendy restaurants. It’s great to see this kind of revitalization happening around us and I’d love to be here 20-30 years from now to see how it all turns out!
