Quiet Sunday

Ahhh … hear that??  That’s right – it’s the sound of nothing happening!  How great is that?!!  I am enjoying a very leisurely Sunday morning with a cup of steaming hot Dunkin’ Donuts coffee while watching “Man vs. Food” on TV.  I usually play squash on Sunday mornings, but since my shoulder’s injured I’m just going to take it nice and slow.  If I have the energy, I may drop by the Slack Key Festival at Kapiolani Park or maybe the Made In Hawai’i Festival over at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall … or I might just go for a short jog before watching one of the NFL pre-season football games this afternoon.  Of course, I can do absolutely nothing too …

ManoaDNA had a busy day yesterday.  Our first performance was at the Kahala Mall where we were the featured act for the center’s first song contest, “SING”.  The contestants were all kids and boy, could they sing … definitely some future American Idols in that bunch!  As soon as we were finished there, we had to head on over to the Sheraton Waikiki for an early sound check for a special JTB event later in the evening.  All in all, it was a very long day but we always have fun no matter where we are … after all, if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, why do it?!

Hmmm .. I think I’m getting hungry.  Maybe I’ll walk over to Andy’s in Manoa for a sandwich or go to Storto’s deli on Waialae Ave. for one of their delicious subs.  Alex “introduced” us to Storto’s on Friday before our Chaminade gig – they’re located right near the school entrance – and I have to say the subs are pretty amazing!  Check ’em out the next time you’re in the area …

Aloha, “D”
