Aloha Wednesday!

Howzit, peeps!  It’s the middle of the week and I’m finally back to 100% although it took me almost a week and a half to do it!  It’s a good thing too because this week is turning out to be one helluva busy one!  I hope you all are having a good one too …

Lots of things happening down at IOLANI on KONA ST. … just launched our 1st special CD featuring ManoaDNA, Kapala, Herb Ohta Jr., and Waipuna.  This CD is only available at IOLANI and is free with every purchase of $50 or more (that’s about 2/3 the price of an aloha shirt!).  It’s a pretty awesome gift and features original recordings from each of the artists … mahalo to Kimo, “Z”, Jr., Kale, and Matt for their contributions!  I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!  And speaking of new and exciting, I’m also pretty impressed with some of the new men’s and women’s styles that our design team has been creating lately … some really good stuff!

It seems that a lot of people are worried about the recent volatility in the stock market, and I’m constantly being asked whether I’m worried too.  You know what people?  I’m allergic to bad news, so I try to avoid it as much as possible … there’s enough of that garbage floating around already so why add more to the pile?!  And yes, I’m concerned about the stock market, but it doesn’t do me any good to worry about it at this point.  I’d much rather focus my energies on something more positive and exciting … like music, IOLANI, and the puppies!  Those brats!!!

Carla and I had our weekly burger fix at Islands in the Ala Moana Shopping Center last night but this time I ordered their Pipeline burger with chili instead of the usual Maui burger.  It was a nice change of pace, and it went great with the crispy onion rings and a frosty cold mug of Coors Light!  Ahhhhh .. life doesn’t get much better than that!

And finally, I want to send our condolences to good friend and fellow musician, Chino Montero, who’s father David just passed away.   Take care, my braddah …

Aloha, “D”
