Good morning, all … it’s Tuesday and we’re already into the first full week of July! The weather here in the valley is still cool and rainy even though it’s already summer … very strange. I don’t know if it’s the result of global warming or what, but it sure seems like the seasons have shifted a bit. Whatever the case, I hope it stays cool .. better than hot!
I had a very relaxing day yesterday .. just ate, slept, and watched TV pretty much all day. We did walk over to Alex’s house for some barbecue and beer late in the afternoon, but didn’t stay too long. My friend Gregg and I got killed in a game of beer pong against Alex and one of his room mates. The object of the game is to toss the ping pong ball into cups of beer so that the other team has to drink the beer .. needless to say, we ended up having to drink most of the beer and could only play one game! One thing I did notice about yesterday was that there no fireworks to be seen or heard anywhere in our neighborhood … really weird because every year there would always be someone setting some off.
We’re rehearsing tonight for our Wildest Show concert at the Honolulu Zoo tomorrow evening. ManoaDNA is honored to be a part of this annual concert series that runs through the month of August and is one of THE coolest venues in town! The amazing thing is that the stage is right next to the bird cages, but all the music and commotion doesn’t seem to bother them one bit! Come down early, bring a cooler and blanket, and enjoy some great music – gates open at 4:30 pm and the music is from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
