Feel The Light!

Happy “Aloha Sunday”, everyone!  After performing at Kani Ka Pila Grille last night, we joined our sound engineer, Milan, in the recording studio for a late night session to put the finishing touches on our new benefit CD single, “FEEL THE LIGHT”.  It should hopefully be completed in time for our upcoming tour to Japan later this month and all sale proceeds from “FEEL THE LIGHT” will go to benefit the disaster victims.  We’ll be posting more details as we get closer to the song’s debut ….

It was a pretty unusual night at Kani Ka Pila last night … even though it was crowded, the audience seemed a little subdued which never happens.  Bruce Shimabukuro, Jake’s brother, dropped by to chill and enjoy a few brewskies with friends and ended up coming on stage to jam a couple of songs with us.  We all had a blast … how can you not have fun when you’re playing music with family and friends?  Impossible!!

I’ve gotta leave in a few minutes to go play some squash, even though my thigh is a little stiff and there’s a big ugly bruise where the racket handle gored me yesterday.  But, hey – no pain no gain!  Then later this afternoon we’ll be dropping in at a friend’s wedding out at the Kualoa Ranch before heading back into town to perform at a graduation party … just another busy ManoaDNA day!

Aloha, “D”
