Sunday recap ….

‘Morning, all.  I’m feeling a little tired this morning … still trying to recover from yesterday’s activities.  The Kokua For Japan telethon event yesterday was absolutely AWESOME and raised $1.6 million in donations!!  Mahalo to all of our friends who were able to come down to the Hilton to support this great cause, and also to those of you who were able to watch it on TV or the internet.  We were extremely honored to be a part of this and wish to thank the organizers and volunteers for all their hard work in putting this together on such a short notice!  What was especially nice for me was seeing all the performers gathered together, interacting, and totally focused on helping out!  Real “chicken skin” moment …

Afterward, Alex and I dropped by the Queen Kapiolani Hotel to see Aloha Joe who was here visiting for the week.  He has a radio show which he streams daily via the internet from the mainland, and has been a great supporter of ManoaDNA over the years.  A lot of his listeners drop by to say hi to us whenever they’re in town visiting … mahalo, Aloha Joe!

Our final “act” of the day was stopping off at Rainbow Drive-Inn to pick up plates of boneless chicken, mahimahi (gravy all over, extra tartar sauce – yeah, babeeee!), and corn beef hash with eggs (gravy all over – naturally!) to take home for dinner.  After arriving home, I then proceeded to change into my old tee-shirt & shorts, ate like a pig, burped, turned on the TV, and proceeded to pass out!   Another fine end to another great Sunday in paradise!

Aloha, “D”
