Still raining here in Manoa Valley … but, so what else is new?! I heard that Hawai’i’s beloved musician and mentor, Kahauanu Lake, just passed away. He played such a huge role of in helping to lay the foundation for Hawaiian music .  I remembering listening to the Kahauanu Lake Trio sing Pua Ahihi for the first time back when was a little kid and I still get “chicken skin” whenever I hear their music played. Rest peacefully, uncle .. you’ve left us all a wonderful legacy!
I’m gearing up for another busy week … got tons of meetings, video and photo shoots, and of course, Lulu’s and KKPG on the weekend! We’re also starting to prepare for our upcoming Japan tour … the excitement is starting to build again! I’ve also been receiving a lot of CDs from various entertainers in preparation for the upcoming Na Hoku Hanohano Awards nominations. There’s some really good stuff that I’ve listened to and I want to wish the best of luck to all the artists. We also submitted our 3rd CD, “EVOLUTION” for consideration, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed too!
Have a great week, everybody! Â Aloha, “D”
