ManoaDNA’s “Boys & Their Toys” 2010 Toy Drive

HOLD FOR RELEASE UNTIL DECEMBER 5th, 2010:

ManoaDNA Holds Their Second Annual Toy Drive

Honolulu, HI – November 23rd, 2010 – For the second year in a row, ManoaDNA will be hosting a toy drive benefiting Hawai’is families. Taking over the Kani Ka Pila Grille on December 11th, they hope to surpass last year’s donations with help from the public.

“Last year we donated a dozen trash bags full of toys,” says ManoaDNA’s Alex Kawakami, “this year, with a lot more planning, we hope to get twice that amount and really help Hawai’i’s families.”

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm, ManoaDNA and volunteers will be on-hand at the Kani Ka Pila Grille to collect toys throughout the night. Located at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach in Waikiki, the Kani Ka Pila Grille is a perfect location for this event because people can come down, drop off their donation, and enjoy great food, drink and music all night long.

The Kani Ka Pila Grille has also got into the generous spirit by offering a special deal to those who donate. If you bring down a donation, Kani Ka Pila will give you a token good towards extending the Happy Hour menu prices.

If people can’t make it down to Kani Ka Pila, but would still like to help, ManoaDNA has setup several ways people can donate. First, donations can be dropped off at our drop-off site, IOLANI on Kona Street. Located at 1234 Kona St, second floor above Side Street Inn, IOLANI on Kona Street will be happy to collect any toy donations before December 11th.

Secondly, donations can be purchased on-line and sent directly to us. ManoaDNA has setup an Amazon.com Wish List containing a list of toys for donation. Anyone can log onto our wish list, purchase their donation, and Amazon.com will automatically ship it directly to us! Plus, if they spend $25 or more, the shipping will be free! Just be sure to have all donations arrive before December 10th. For complete details about online donations, visit ManoaDNA.com.

Any toy donation must be unwrapped and new or unused. Complete details can be found on ManoaDNA’s website (manoadna.com) and updates will be posted throughout the night on their twitter feed (twitter.com/manoadna).

ManoaDNA is a band consisting of father and two sons (Lloyd, Nick & Alex Kawakami), and can be found twice a week in Waikiki or on the net at ManoaDNA.com. This is the second year of hosting a toy drive, and 100% of the donations will be given to Hawai’i charities helping Hawai’i families.
