Hawai’i’s Warriors

This week has been a historic one for the state of Hawai’i and its collegiate sports programs. As of today’s count, we have one national champion, one college world series and one WAC Champion.

Hawai’i Pacific University, today, won the NCAA Div. 2 women’s softball national championship, beating Valdosta St. 4-3.

The University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine secured their first-ever College Softball World Series birth with a game-winning walk-off homerun.

And the University of Hawai’i mens baseball team advances to the NCAA tournament with a WAC (Western Athletic Conference) championship.

All in all, a very proud day for fans of the diamond. I watched the UH softball game yesterday, and it was a good one. Especially since they upset number-one seeded Alabama.

Good luck to UH, congratulations HPU, a great week for Hawai’i sports!
