Just got confirmation early this morning that a tsunami is going to hit Hawai’i around 11:20am this morning. For those of you who don’t know what a tsunami is, it’s a giant tidal wave usually generated by an earthquake. There was a huge earthquake in Chile last night – 8.8 on the Richter scale, which is huge – and that generated the tsunami And guess what … our flight to Kona is also at 11:20am – the exact same time when the first wave is expected to hit Hawai’i … is this spooky or what?! I wonder what our kupuna are trying to tell us … hmmmm! Anyway, we’re all hoping for the best but if my blog isn’t updated for the next few days, you know we have problems!
On a happier note, Lulu’s was packed last night – we must’ve have 5 or 6 large parties including about 8 birthdays! We also streamed our ManoaDNA Live! on the internet, so I hope you guys enjoyed the craziness!
.. Hey, I’m back! It’s now the afternoon and the tsunami threat is pretty much over. Unfortunately, our beloved Twilight event was canceled since most of the Kohala coast was evacuated as a precaution. Oh well, better safe than sorry! We’re going to try and reschedule Twilight for another month.
Aloha, “D”
