Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!  First of all, thank you for allowing me a couple days to rest and recuperate from a very exhausting week!  We completed all of the recordings and photo shoots for our new Victor CD which debuts in Japan this Spring, and after performing last Friday and Saturday I’m ready for some serious down time!  Besides, my throat is starting to act up again and is now pretty sore again … I hope it’s from fatigue and not because I’m getting a relapse!  In any case, we finally have a little breathing room before we begin working again on our 3rd CD, so the boys and I can relax and recharge.

Friday night at Lulu’s was loud and rowdy, and while we performed without Nick (he was at the Bon Jovi concert), our good friend Jack Ofoia filled in admirably!  Jack’s a great guitarist and it was fun playing with him.   There was a wild group of Australians that decided that they wanted to join Pat in dancing the hula.  It was hilarious and we teased her the rest of the night about her instant “halau”!  Our good friend from Japan, Miyuki, and Sarah also contributed some great hula that evening for the very appreciative crowd.

On Saturday, we performed a short set at the Ukulele Picnic at the Kaka’ako Waterfront Park before heading over to Kani Ka Pila Grille.  It was great to be back at KKPG since we haven’t been able to perform there too often recently.  Now that things are settling down a bit, we should be back there more often … at least until we begin traveling in May.

Aloha, “D”
