Christmas Eve

Only one more day till Christmas!  It’s early in the morning and it has to be one of the most beautiful mornings I have ever seen here in Manoa Valley!  The air is very chilly and the morning dew can be seen everywhere … the sun is just beginning to peak its head over the Ko’olau mountains and I can see the first morning rays shining on the valley.  I wish you all could be here to witness this amazing moment and to feel the mana of our kupuna, for surely they are here by my side!

I gotta go meet my buddies for an early round of golf so I’ll continue this after I get back …. alooooooha!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY!  Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you guys, but I got REAL busy after golf yesterday.  I didn’t shoot a very good score, but we all had a great time and the weather was absolutely spectacular!  Christmas Eve at the Kawakami home was filled with lots of food and fun, and it was great to see friends who we don’t normally get to see during the year.  And as usual, I had way too much to eat and drink and spent most of today dozing off in front of the TV!  We started off Christmas morning with our traditional breakfast and then proceeded to open gifts – boy, what a mess!  Our puppies even got into the act and opened a few of their gifts on their own too!

We’re now in the studio working on our first radio show and it’s been quite an experience!  It’s amazing how hard it is to act and sound natural when you know someone is actually going to be listening to you!  It’s a lot of fun though, and I know we’ll get better with each show …

Aloha, “D”
