Boy, what a difference a week makes!  Last week was absolute CHAOS .. this week is sooo nice and mellow!  That’s because yesterday was IOLANI’s last official work day for 2009 – we will be closed through Christmas and New Year’s – and we will reopen again on Jan. 4th ready to take on the world!  Except for a few meetings here and there, my schedule for the next week and a half will be pretty calm (I hope!), especially since ManoaDNA will be taking a well-deserved break for the rest of 2009.  Of course, we still have a lot of work to do in the recording studio before the end of the year, but at least we now have some breathing room!

Now that life has settled down to a more manageable pace, a thought just occurred to me … hey, it’s Christmas time!  Up to now, Christmas was the furthest thing from my mind given all the stuff that’s happened up to now … MDNA project deadlines & performances, IOLANI business, Carla’s health, Alex’s school, blah, blah, blah …. and I feel so blessed to FINALLY have a few days to truly enjoy this wonderful time of the year with my family and friends!  I think some people use the phrase “taking the time to stop and smell the roses” …

Please take care and be kind to each other …

Aloha, “D”
