Yokohama – Day 2

We just got back from dinner with our good friends, Aiko and Yoshiaki Taguchi, and the took us to their favorite restaurant in Chinatown here in Yokohama.  The meal was so awesome and my favorite dish was the shark fin soup with crab roe … delicious!  A big mahalo to the Taguchis for the kind hospitality and generosity!

Today’s performances were interesting … our first stage was an actual wedding for which we sang the Hawaiian Wedding Song, the Lord’s Prayer, and a new composition Welcome to Hawaii. The last song was written for us by a Japanese composer and is a very upbeat tune with all Japanese lyrics.  We got a lot of inquiries about that song, so I think we may end up recording it for the Japan market soon.  Our second performance later that afternoon was outside in the heat and humidity … I forgot how hot this venue was and boy, did I sweat!  I looked like I had just jumped into a swimming pool!  Anyway, we had a lot of fun with the crowd, especially at the end when Sarah came back on stage to teach everyone the hula to the HTJ theme song ONLY IN HAWAII.
