Michael Jackson – RIP

We lost one of the best entertainers of all time today.
When I heard the Michael Jackson died today, I didn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it. I almost broke down in to tears when I heard it on the radio in my car. He was such a huge influence on every single musician in the world no matter what type of music they played, and everyone knew his music and would smile when his music was played. I got to see him perform at Aloha Stadium when I was little and I have always said that that was the best concert I’ve ever seen. It also showed me what a real performance looked like. When I was little I would always listen to Michael Jackson’s songs and copy his dance moves. Just last year, in Japan, when I went to sing Karaoke with some friends, I chose to sing an MJ song and everyone knew the words and got up and danced; it was amazing.
When you have a life like Michael Jackson, everyone is jealous and wants to be like you, but his life was so skewed and he could never do anything by himself, so everything that he did was under a public microscope. This day has been filled with good memories of MJ, but I know that people are going to start coming forward to blame MJ for various things, but I hope that in the next week or so people just talk about the good things he did rather than trying to beat him down and look in to his past.
I can only hope that one day my music will have a small fraction of the affect that MJ’s music had on people. He’s an inspiration to everyone whether a musician or not, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and I can only hope that people look back on the good things he’s done. His music will live on and heal people in the future, and he will be known as the best performer of all time. RIP MJ – You will be deeply missed.
