It’s October 1st, which to me is the official start of the Fall season. This is my favorite time of year, not only because of the holiday season but because people seem happier and more optimistic during this time. Maybe it’s because 2012 is almost over, which, needless to say, has been a very trying year indeed for all of us …
I’m gonna be swamped these next few weeks with lots to do at ‘IOLANI and with ManoaDNA both on stage and in the studio. Tomorrow we’re performing for all of the Medal of Honor recipients at the governor’s mansion at Washington Place … truly an honor, especially since my dad served in the 442nd during WWII. Wednesday we perform at a trustee reception for our alma mater, Punahou, and then I’m off to the mainland for a few days. After that, it’s a quick trip to Japan followed by another a few weeks later. Whew!
Meanwhile, I wanted to let our fans in Japan know that we’re hard at work preparing for our upcoming “MDNA Meets Ohana” 2012 tour to Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo from November 6th – 12th. We’ll be debuting our new CD “SWEET EMBRACE” along with other surprises, so please don’t miss it! Tickets are on sale now, so please check our website for further details. Looking forward to seeing you all very soon!
Aloha, “D”
