It’s another windy and rainy morning in Manoa, and the puppies are going crazy ’cause they can’t go for their walk. I’m going down to the club to play squash with my buddies in a few minutes, so I’ll continue this blog after I get back if I don’t finish. My right shoulder is still a mess and I’ve kind of resigned myself to the fact that it’s not going to get any better. People have told me to get it fixed, but I refuse to have surgery on it … still have vivid memories of the injury to my left shoulder and the painful recovery and physical therapy that followed! And I still have problems with it! I tell you, gettin’ old is a bitch! Ok, I gotta split … continue this after I get back …
Ok, I’m back … squash was fun, although it took a while to loosen the shoulder up. Once it did, though, I did manage to make it through several games of cutthroat before it tightened up again. Afterward, I stopped off at Hank’s Haute Dogs to pick up some lunch – a Portuguese, chili, and two Chicago ‘dogs … so ono! Also got an order of their special duck fat french fries which are so decadent, but good! Gonna take the rest of the afternoon off and chill out and watch the Olympics … go USA!
It rained on and off last night at the Kani Ka Pila Grille… in fact, it was the most I’ve seen it rain since we started playing there. That didn’t seem to deter many of our fans who braved the blustery weather to come out and support us … a huge mahalo to you all! We won’t be at Lulu’s or KKPG next week since we’ll on the Big Island to perform at our pals Danny & Anna Akaka’s “Talk Story” at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel … yeehaaaa!
Aloha, “D”
