Video shoot today!

Aloha, everyone!

Got another busy day ahead, starting off with an early morning marketing meeting, then a video shoot at our IOLANI ON KONA ST. store with Japan celebrity Toshikazu Fukawa.  I was told that years ago, he was a member of the popular Japanese idol group SHIBUGAKITAI, then later became an actor and is now a collector of aloha shirts.  Today’s video shoot will be part of Hawai’i Tourism Japan’s new YouTube video series which launches in July, so please watch for it!  I may even have to wear slacks for this one!

Just got an email from Alex saying that he arrived in Fukuoka a few hours ago.  He’s probably already in Kagoshima by now … sure hope he doesn’t get lost!  Nick and I will be joining him in a few days and then we’ll all head up to Hiroshima for a few days before going on to Yokohama.  This trip is significant as it also marks the beginning of ManoaDNA’s next phase in its musical journey.  After being exclusively with Hawai’i Tourism Japan for the last 6 years, we are now ready to re-focus all of our energies on our real passion – contemporary music.  The traditional Hawaiian music/hula phase has passed and we are totally moving in a new musical direction using many of Alex’s compositions and MDNA’s unique vocal arrangements.  I don’t about you guys, but I’m really excited … especially for many of you loyal fans who have been with us from the start.  I hope you’ll continue to support MDNA as we move forward …

Aloha, “D”
