Aloha Friday again!

Good morning, y’all!

I promised you guys that I would post up photos from the recent storm we had.  These two were sent by my good friend Ralph, who lives in Kailua, O’ahu, and were sent to him by a friend who lives in nearby Lanikai.  You can see the Mokulua Islands in the foreground which are located just off of Lanikai Beach.  And no, that’s not a flying saucer in the tornado photo – probably a reflection of a ceiling light in the window … or is it???  That one with the waterspout just plain scares the hell out of me, but the lightning photo is pretty awesome.  Mother Nature is truly magnificent and all powerful!

I had an up and down round of golf yesterday afternoon – shot an 84 (45 & 39) which wasn’t bad considering my erratic golf swing.  We had a lot of fun, though, and it was great to see our buddies Les, Buzz, and Alton back in the fold.  Les is recovering from major heart surgery and probably won’t be able to join us on the links for quite a while yet.  We’re really glad he’s back, though …

I’m back at Waialae today to host a couple from Japan, the Tsujimotos.  I met Kenzo and his wife, Natsuko, at a dinner hosted by my good friend Wayne over at Cafe Miro some time ago.  Kenzo is the founder and chairman of Capcom, a well-known global video gaming company, who also owns Kenzo Estates, a vineyard & winery in Napa.  We’ll be joined on the links today by my good friend, Danny Ojiri.  Fore!!

Aloha, “D”
